This artwork depicts a woman on horseback carrying her baby in a cradleboard, secured to a traditional high-horn saddle, as they move through ripe huckleberry bushes in early summer. Purple horse tracks beneath the horse mark their passage through the landscape, signaling both movement and season. Tipis appear in the background, representing Salish summer encampments and the time of year when families gathered to harvest huckleberries. This piece reflects the Salish seasonal way of life, where travel, food gathering, and family are deeply connected to place and time on the land.
